This place used to be a shithole
Now it’s a shithole with expensive coffee shops
And the people who live round here now

The façade is still immaculate on the old Kwik Save building
I bet that place is full of rats
They play bingo in the old church hall now
And Sunday service happens in the old bingo hall

The beer garden and the car park are one in the same
But nobody really seems to mind
To get to the pub I have to pass a sandwich shop.
The owner of the shop is obsessed with the litany of injustices faced by television presenter John Leslie. He’ll talk about them at any given opportunity. So I give it a wide berth.
I enjoy an afternoon pint with gravel underfoot, watching a sparrow feed its young.
Later on I might go to some of the rougher pubs because they are a lot cheaper and I might even sing a Robbie Williams song on the karaoke.
